Heading out on one of our RunRebel UK Trail Events? Whether you're taking on rolling hills, forest paths, or coastal trails, a little preparation can make your run smoother, safer, and a lot more enjoyable.
Here’s our quick guide to what you really need to bring on race day:
👟 1. Trail-Friendly Footwear
Good shoes make good miles.
We recommend trail running trainers or light trail shoes, depending on the terrain of your chosen event. These will give you better grip, stability, and comfort so you can focus on enjoying the adventure.
💧 2. Reusable Water Bottle or Cup
We’re proud to be a paperless, eco-friendly event.
That means no disposable cups at feed stations, so remember to bring your own reusable bottle or collapsible cup.
You’ll want easy access to hydration as you clock up the kilometres.
🍬 3. Your Favourite Snacks
Our feed stations offer sweets, pretzels, and other goodies, but it’s always best to bring snacks you know your body responds well to.
Popular choices include:
- Jelly Babies
- Pretzels
- Electrolyte chews or gels
Please make sure to take your litter with you or use a bin near our feed stations.
Every runner feels different out on the trails - pack what works for you.
📱 4. Your Mobile Phone
Make sure your phone is fully charged and that you’ve added our contact number to your phonebook.
If anything happens while you're out on course and no one is nearby, you’ll be able to reach us quickly so we can assist you.
🌦️ 5. Weather-Ready Layers
Most of our trail events take place in the colder months, and the weather can be unpredictable.
We recommend bringing:
- A lightweight layer
- A waterproof jacket
- Something you can comfortably tie around your waist if you warm up
Staying adaptable is key to keeping your run comfortable from start to finish.
