More about CHESS Homeless
CHESS Homeless has been supporting people facing homelessness in Essex for over 30 years.
We provide:
- Emergency accommodation & supported housing
- Outreach services
- Mental health and wellbeing support
- Help accessing benefits, healthcare and employment
- Practical support to help people move towards independent living
Our aim is not only to provide a safe place to stay but also to help individuals rebuild their confidence, regain stability and create a brighter future.

Where Your Fundraising Goes
Every donation helps us continue delivering vital services to vulnerable people across our communities. Your fundraising could help provide:
- 🏠 Safe accommodation for someone experiencing homelessness
- 🍲 Hot meals and essential supplies
- 💙 One-to-one support from experienced staff
- 🩺 Access to healthcare and wellbeing services
- 🎓 Training, education and employment support
- 🔑 Help for people to move into and sustain their own homes
Together, we can help people move from homelessness to independence.
Fundraising Target
We ask all Team CHESS participants to aim to raise a minimum amount in sponsorship, dependant upon which course you are doing. (see table below).
Distance 2.5k - Fundraising Target £150
Distance 5k - Fundraising Target £200
Distance 10k - Fundraising Target £250
Distance 15k - Fundraising Target £300
Every pound raised will directly support our work helping people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
