Making The Difference
Vranch House is a children's charity based in Exeter providing specialist therapy, health, and education services to children with physical disabilities and additional needs across Devon.
Through a comprehensive range of therapy services and tailored educational support, We champion every child’s potential - supporting independence, honouring their goals, and helping them flourish, whether they are building new skills or living with the most complex of needs.
More about Vranch House Children's Charity
By joining our fundraising team, every step you take helps us deliver life-changing support to local children and families.
We run two core services:
1. Special Educational Needs (SEN) School (ages 2–19)
Our specialist school supports children and young people with significant complex physical difficulties through highly personalised education, therapy-integrated teaching, and a nurturing environment designed to help every learner achieve their full potential. Many of the children who attend Vranch House experience associated difficulties including visual impairment and/or hearing impairment, multi-sensory impairment, speech, language and communication needs, severe, multiple and profound learning needs or complex medical needs. We are all about ‘Making the difference’ to our pupils’ lives, some of which are very short due to life limiting conditions, meaning every day needs to be meaningful and fun.
2. Clinical Therapy Services (ages 0–19)
Vranch House also operates a dedicated Therapy Centre providing clinical services for children and young people aged 0–19 with a wide range of physical difficulties, from mild to very complex. Each year, the Centre supports more than 1,500 outpatients across North, West, East, and Mid Devon. Many young people attend Vranch House as outpatients for therapy or treatment, while others are pupils at Vranch House School or attend other special schools in the region. Where needed, children are also seen in their mainstream schools or at home, ensuring therapy is delivered in the most appropriate setting.
The charity also supplies essential equipment to support the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of both pupils and many outpatients. This equipment is provided according to individual professional recommendations and may include standing frames, walkers, adapted seating and tables, complex recliners, therapy couches, and selected IT equipment to support communication, recording, and written work.
Together, these two services ensure that children from infancy through to young adulthood receive the therapy, education, and care they need at every stage of development.
How your support could help us:
£10 could cover the cost of fuel for a therapist to attend a home visit
£60 could pay for a music therapy session
£100 could service a vital piece of equipment e.g. a hoist
£100 could cover the cost of water testing for our hydrotherapy pool for one month
Whether you're tackling the course solo, with friends, or as a team of colleagues, you’ll be part of a community making a meaningful difference.
