Making life better for young people in and around care
Break is a charity working across East Anglia to make life better for children and young people from care and those with complex needs. We firmly believe that every child, no matter their start in life, deserves a bright future.
More about Break
Experiencing care can be lonely. People come and go, and it’s not unusual to experience multiple houses which rarely become homes. It can often feel out of control.
But Break is different. Through our wide range of services including fostering, providing stable and loving homes, therapeutic support and mentoring programs, we offer a loving and nurturing environment where young individuals can thrive.
We also have a unique promise to all those in our care - a lifelong offer of support. This means we will walk alongside all our young people for however long they need us. And just like any good family, we’re not here to only find a way through the bad days, we celebrate the good ones too.
Our aim is to empower those with care experience to overcome their challenges and to feel like they’re part of something special: a family that means they’re never alone.
How your support could help us:
Your fundraising means we can give more young people living in care, the love, opportunities, and support they truly deserve.
£27 could provide a young person with a one-to-one therapy session so they can share their thoughts and talk through their worries.
£55 could help a young person moving out of care make their new place a home by choosing their own soft furnishings.
£150 could help a young person learn new skills as they work on our CoffeeBreak van and gain valuable qualifications, helping them into the world of work.
£284 means a young person can have a dedicated mentor for an entire year, giving them guidance, support and encouragement as they journey towards independence.
£370 will give a group of care leavers a whole day of activities together to help them develop their confidence and share their experiences.
£500 could help create a sensory room, a safe and calming space designed to help young people with complex needs relax, engage, and develop vital sensory skills.
