As you begin your journey, you’ll follow the winding track along Wall Side Plantation, where the gentle rustling of leaves provides a calming soundtrack to your run. The path leads you up to Sugar Hill, where you can catch your first glimpse of the sprawling estate. From there, you’ll pass close to the iconic sets of Emmerdale, adding a touch of local culture to your scenic adventure.
Continuing on, you'll arrive at the Eccup Reservoir, the largest body of water in West Yorkshire. Here, the tranquil waters are surrounded by rich biodiversity, including rare bird species and unique plant life, making this a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts. As you soak in the breathtaking vistas, take a moment to appreciate the harmony of the landscape.
After reveling in the beauty of the reservoir, you’ll make your way back towards Harewood House through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood. These enchanting wooded areas are filled with towering trees and vibrant flora, offering a picturesque backdrop as you navigate the trails. The sights and sounds of nature will accompany you as you pass the tranquil lake, a highlight of the route.
As you approach the finish line, the sense of accomplishment builds, and you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome back to the estate. Upon completing the race, you’ll receive a well-deserved medal and a finish line prize, a fitting reward for your efforts in this beautiful and historic setting. The Harewood House Half Marathon is not just a race; it’s an unforgettable experience that combines athleticism with the splendor of nature.

Things to note
- You will collect your running bib number on arrival at the event. Please bring your QR code with you on the day and head to 'Registration' for collection.
- Save The Event Phone Number: 02033 717 156.
- Bib numbers should be displayed clearly on the front of you.
- We are plastic free, please bring a reusable cup / bottle for use at the water stations.
- There will be First Aid support located at the on-course aid stations and event centre.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome at the West Yorkshire Trail Run. We love that spectators further add to the fantastic atmosphere at the event.
Course Signage
The race will be clearly signed using PINK arrows and PINK tape.
We will also mark hazards and road junctions with 'Caution' signs. Please take care at these points.
Event Day Timings
7:30 am* - Venue Opens
The car park opens to allow runners to prepare themselves for the race and grab a coffee.
8:30 AM* - 21.7km Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Half Marathon distance runners cross the start line.
9:00 AM* - 12.7km Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Medium distance runners cross the start line.
1:30 pm* - The Race Finishes / Cut-off Time
Your adventure finishes, you will cross the finish line and collect your bag full of goodies.
2:00 pm* - The Event Centre Closes
The venue closes.
