The sell-out South Downs Trail Run, attracting over 1,000 runners, is back!
Starting at the iconic Glorious Goodwood Racecourse, this trail run takes you deep into the heart of the South Downs National Park, offering a spectacular challenge for runners of all abilities.
This ultimate South Downs running event features breathtaking views across rolling hills, with glimpses of the North Downs, Chichester Harbour, and even the Isle of Wight on a clear day. The thoughtfully designed route weaves through forest tracks, skirts the edge of Levin Down, and includes a stretch of the famous South Downs Way. After a rewarding downhill into East Dean, one final climb leads to a triumphant finish back at the Historic Goodwood Racecourse.
Runners will enjoy a rich mix of forest fire roads, bridleways, and single-track trails, making each mile varied, engaging, and scenic. With three distances to choose from, 21k (Half Marathon), 16k or 12k including canicross. The South Downs Trail Run caters to those chasing a PB, building confidence on trails, or simply soaking up the stunning surroundings.

Things to note
- You will collect your running bib number on arrival at the event. Please bring your QR code with you on the day and head to 'Registration' for collection.
- Save The Event Phone Number: 02033 717 156.
- Bib numbers should be displayed clearly on the front of you.
- We are plastic free, please bring a reusable cup / bottle for use at the water stations.
- There will be First Aid support located at the on-course aid stations and event centre.
- One dog, per one runner.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome at the South Downs Trail Run. We love that spectators further add to the fantastic atmosphere at the event.

Course Signage
The race will be clearly signed using PINK arrows and PINK tape.
We will also mark hazards and road junctions with 'Caution' signs. Please take care at these points.

The car park opens to allow runners to prepare themselves for the race and grab a coffee.
9:00 AM* - 21.3km Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Half Marathon distance runners cross the start line.
9:05 AM* - 21.3km Canicross Distance Race Start!

9:15 AM* - 16.5km Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Medium distance runners cross the start line.
9:20 AM* - 16.5km Canicross Distance Race Start!
