Info - Jurassic Express Trail Hike & Walking Challenge (Swanage, Dorset) - Saturday 13th March 2027

Our most popular coastal event returns!

The Jurassic Express Trail Hike begins on the beautiful Swanage seafront and takes you on an unforgettable journey through some of the South Coast's most iconic landscapes. This spectacular coastal walking and hiking challenge offers three distances to choose from: 21k (Half Marathon), 16.5k, or 10.5k, making it ideal for walkers and hikers of all abilities.

...

From the very first steps, you'll enjoy breathtaking Jurassic Coast views, following a route that guides you past unforgettable landmarks such as Old Harry Rocks, Studland, and the majestic Corfe Castle. The terrain combines firm chalk paths with sandy coastal tracks, providing enjoyable, varied walking conditions whether you're taking on a challenge or simply soaking up the scenery.

Your adventure continues even after you reach the finish line. After completing your challenge beneath the historic ruins of Corfe Castle, you'll board a private vintage steam train for a memorable journey back to Swanage. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the nostalgic charm of the Swanage Railway—an unforgettable way to end your Jurassic adventure.

Train tickets are £8 per person and can be purchased during booking. Spectators are welcome and can buy train tickets from our online shop or on the day.
