Experience the beauty of the New Forest National Park with the New Forest Trail Hike, starting near Brockenhurst. Set in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this late-season walking and hiking challenge offers a memorable outdoor adventure for participants of all abilities.
The route follows wide, hard-packed gravel paths, winding through stunning forests where you may encounter native New Forest ponies, horses, donkeys, and deer grazing freely along the trails. Recognized as the best National Park in Europe and 10th in the world, the New Forest provides a breathtaking backdrop for an unforgettable walking or hiking experience.
...The course is slightly undulating, with just 183m total elevation gain on the Half Marathon route. Well-maintained and solid underfoot, the trails are ideal for all weather conditions, making this a smooth, flowing, and scenic woodland and heathland challenge.
With three distances available 21k (Half Marathon), 17k, or 10k the event welcomes walkers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. At the finish line, participants are rewarded with a high-quality metal medal, refreshing drink, and a selection of finisher goodies.

How to get there

Things to note
- You will collect your hiking bib number on arrival at the event. Please bring your QR code with you on the day and head to 'Registration' for collection.
- Save The Event Phone Number: 02033 717 156.
- Bib numbers should be displayed clearly on the front of you.
- We are plastic free, please bring a reusable cup / bottle for use at the water stations.
- There will be First Aid support located at the on-course aid stations and event centre.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome at the New Forest Brockenhurst Hiking Trail. We love that spectators further add to the fantastic atmosphere at the event.
Course Signage
The hike will be clearly signed using PINK arrows and PINK tape.
We will also mark hazards and road junctions with 'Caution' signs. Please take care at these points.
Event Day Timings
7:15 am* - Venue Opens
The car park opens to allow hikers to prepare themselves for the hike and grab a coffee.
9:15 AM* - All Hiking Distances Start!
The hike kicks off as the walkers cross the start line.
2:00 pm* - The Hike Finishes / Cut-off Time
Your adventure finishes, you will cross the finish line and collect your bag full of goodies.
2:30 pm* - The Event Centre Closes
The venue closes.
