Queen Elizabeth Country Park Hiking Challenge (Nr Petersfield), Hampshire - Saturday, 30th January 2027

Discover one of Hampshire's most scenic and rewarding hike and walking challenges, set within the stunning South Downs National Park. This event offers an unforgettable experience across tree-lined trails, sweeping views, and well-maintained off-road paths that are a true pleasure to explore on foot.

Starting and finishing at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield, participants follow a beautifully varied route through the park's hard-packed trails, immersing themselves in the natural charm of the surrounding landscape. Walkers head out through the ancient woodland of Head Down before joining the iconic South Downs Way, an unforgettable stretch of national trail.

...

From here, each route loops back toward the park, where all distances merge to explore War Down, offering peaceful gravel tracks framed by towering trees.

This challenge gives participants the chance to experience diverse terrain, breathtaking views, and a strong connection with nature, perfect for anyone seeking a scenic and inspiring outdoor adventure in the South Downs.

Suitable for walkers of all abilities, the event offers three challenge distances:

  • 21k Half Marathon Walking Challenge
  • 15k Walking Challenge
  • 8k Walking Challenge

Every participant will enjoy:

  • Chip-timed entry
  • High-quality metal medal
  • Finisher's goodie and refreshing drink
