Starting and finishing at Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield, participants follow a beautifully varied route through the park's hard-packed trails, immersing themselves in the natural charm of the surrounding landscape. Walkers head out through the ancient woodland of Head Down before joining the iconic South Downs Way, an unforgettable stretch of national trail.
...From here, each route loops back toward the park, where all distances merge to explore War Down, offering peaceful gravel tracks framed by towering trees.
This challenge gives participants the chance to experience diverse terrain, breathtaking views, and a strong connection with nature, perfect for anyone seeking a scenic and inspiring outdoor adventure in the South Downs.
Suitable for walkers of all abilities, the event offers three challenge distances:

What to Wear and Bring - The Essential Kit List
Important Information for Participants
- You will collect your hiking bib number on arrival at the event. Please bring your QR code with you on the day and head to 'Registration' for collection.
- Save The Event Phone Number: 02033 717 156.
- Bib numbers should be displayed clearly on the front of you.
- We are plastic free, please bring a reusable cup / bottle for use at the water stations.
- There will be First Aid support located at the on-course aid stations and event centre.
- One dog, per one runner.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park Hiking Trail (QECP). We love that spectators further add to the fantastic atmosphere at the event.

Finding Your Way on the Course - Signage
The hike will be clearly signed using PINK arrows and PINK tape.
We will also mark hazards and road junctions with 'Caution' signs. Please take care at these points.
Event Day Timings for the Queen Elizabeth Country Park Hiking Trail (QECP)
7:15 am* - Venue Opens
The car park opens to allow hikers to prepare themselves for the hike and grab a coffee.
8:30 AM* - 21.6km Distance Hike Start!
The hike kicks off as the Half Marathon distance walkers cross the start line.
9:00 AM* - 15.2km Distance Hike Start!
The hike kicks off as the Medium distance walkers cross the start line.
9:00 AM* - 7.9km Distance Hike Start!
The hike kicks off as the Short distance walkers cross the start line.
2:00 pm* - The Hike Finishes / Cut-off Time
Your adventure finishes, you will cross the finish line and collect your bag full of goodies.
2:30 pm* - The Event Centre Closes
The venue closes.
