Starting and finishing within the historic parkland, this scenic trail run offers a choice of 10K, 15K or Half Marathon distances, making it ideal for all abilities - from first-time trail runners to experienced off-road racers.
...The route flows through a mix of woodland trails, open parkland and riverside paths, with extended sections alongside the beautiful River Derwent. Expect a fast, runnable course with natural variation - from tree-lined avenues to open stretches where you can settle into your rhythm.
Elvaston Castle provides a unique race setting, combining Victorian gardens, historic architecture and wide open green space to create a memorable and atmospheric event. The terrain is predominantly trail and grass, with some firm footpaths - accessible, but still delivering that true Run Rebel edge.
Whether you're chasing a PB on the trails or soaking in the surroundings, this is trail running at its best - natural, varied and seriously good fun.

What to Wear and Bring - The Essential Kit List
Important Information for Participants
- You will collect your running bib number on arrival at the event. Please bring your QR code with you on the day and head to 'Registration' for collection.
- Save The Event Phone Number: 02033 717 156.
- Bib numbers should be displayed clearly on the front of you.
- We are plastic free, please bring a reusable cup / bottle for use at the water stations.
- There will be First Aid support located at the on-course aid stations and event centre.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome at the Derby Derwent Trail Run. We love that spectators further add to the fantastic atmosphere at the event.
Finding Your Way on the Course - Signage
The race will be clearly signed using PINK arrows and PINK tape.
We will also mark hazards and road junctions with 'Caution' signs. Please take care at these points.
Event Day Timings for the Derby Derwent Trail Run
7:30 am* - Venue Opens
The car park opens to allow runners to prepare themselves for the race and grab a coffee.
8:30 AM* - 21.1k Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Half Marathon distance runners cross the start line.
9:00 AM* - 14.5k Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Medium distance runners cross the start line.
9:15 AM* - 10.4k Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Short distance runners cross the start line.
1:30 pm* - The Race Finishes / Cut-off Time
Your adventure finishes, you will cross the finish line and collect your bag full of goodies.
2:00 pm* - The Event Centre Closes
The venue closes.
