The Jurassic Express Trail Run begins on the beautiful Swanage seafront and takes you on an unforgettable journey through some of the South Coast's most iconic scenery. This spectacular coastal trail run includes 3 route distances. Pick from 21k (Half Marathon), 16.5k or 10.5k. The course is perfect for runners seeking stunning views, varied terrain, and a truly unique race day experience.
From the very first stretch, you'll enjoy breathtaking coastal panoramas as the route guides you past highlights such as Old Harry Rocks, Studland, and the majestic Corfe Castle. The trails are made up of firm chalk paths and sandy tracks, offering smooth, enjoyable running whether you're chasing a time or simply looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Jurassic Coast.
Your adventure doesn't end at the finish line. After crossing the finish beneath the historic ruins of Corfe Castle, you'll board a private vintage train for a memorable journey back to Swanage. Sit back, relax, and take in the nostalgic charm of the Swanage historic railway, the perfect way to reflect on a trail run you'll remember for years.
Train tickets are £8 per person and can be purchased when booking. Spectators are welcome and can buy their train tickets via our online shop or on the day.

How to get there
Please note: There is no on-site parking available for this event. However, plenty of public car parks are located nearby. Please note, it is your responsibility to check for all relevant parking charges.

Things to note
- Please note: We will be sending your running bibs to you by post. If you have opted for a train ticket wristband, this will be included in the same package.
- Save The Event Phone Number: 02033 717 156.
- Bib numbers should be displayed clearly on the front of you.
- We are plastic free, please bring a reusable cup / bottle for use at the water stations.
- There will be First Aid support located at the on-course aid stations and event centre.
Spectators
Spectators are always welcome at the Jurassic Express Trail Run (Swanage). We love that spectators further add to the fantastic atmosphere at the event.
Course Signage
The race will be clearly signed using PINK arrows and PINK tape.
We will also mark hazards and road junctions with 'Caution' signs. Please take care at these points.
Event Day Timings
7:30 am* - Venue Opens
The car park opens to allow runners to prepare themselves for the race and grab a coffee.
9:00 AM* - 21.0km Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Half Marathon distance runners cross the start line.
9:15 AM* - 16.5km Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Medium distance runners cross the start line.
9:30 AM* - 10.5km Distance Race Start!
The race kicks off as the Short distance runners cross the start line.
1:30 pm* - The Race Finishes / Cut-off Time
Your adventure finishes, you will cross the finish line and collect your bag full of goodies.
PLEASE NOTE: The last train will leave at 1:45pm
2:00 pm* - The Event Centre Closes
The venue closes.
