Charity of the Year
Challengers

At Challengers we transform the lives of disabled children, young people and their families through the power of play. At our schemes, disabled young people can make friends and try new activities in a safe, fun and fully inclusive environment! We now support over 750 children and young people aged 2 to 18 through our 16 services across Surrey, Hampshire, West Sussex and Greater London. Our mission is a world where all children and young people can play together freely.

More about Challengers

Challengers not only benefits the children and young people that attend our schemes but also has a huge impact on their families, allowing parents and carers vital respite from the demands of caring for a disabled young person.

Since the day Challengers was established, we have prided ourselves on being fully inclusive and will always find a way to welcome every child and young person regardless of the complexity of needs, the level of support required or their family's financial circumstances. Today, the need for our services continues to grow with 70% of children and young people at Challengers requiring 1:1 or 2:1 support, many of whom having nowhere else to go, other than Challengers.

If you would like to find out more about the charity, please visit our website or watch the video below - A Place Where I'm #FreeToBeMe. We hope you will join our EPIC team of runners taking on the fun filled challenge of Guildford Inflatable 5k in aid of Challengers - thank you in advance for your generous support!

How your support could help us:

We truly value all our amazing supporters, and we hope you would like to join #TeamOrange by taking part in this epic challenge! To give you an idea of the impact of your support…

£15 could fund 1 hour of play and specialised care from one of our leaders. Our leaders are highly trained to support our young people with the most complex needs, support the scheme staff and parents, and ensure everyone is having a brilliant time!

£50 could fund a giant rainbow play parachute for one of our schemes providing disabled children hours of fun and team building activities. Rain or shine, it's a great piece of kit to get the whole scheme playing together!

£100 could fund for an adorable Shetland Pony to visit the centre. Petting, feeding and grooming the ponies always puts a smile everyone's face!

£250 could fund 10 young people to have an amazing day on the rollercoasters at Thorpe Park, having fun and enjoying time with their friends!

£500 could fund 10 staff members completing our safeguarding and inclusion training. Ensuring all children and young people who attend Challengers are taken care of to the highest of standards and kept safe while having a great time!
