Working with and for older people across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
At Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, we are dedicated to helping older people enjoy later life by providing support that enhances their home environment and community connections. Our services include information and advice, practical assistance, and social opportunities. Your donations enable us to continue delivering these vital services - from our Information and Advice team, who offer guidance on a wide range of topics, to our Handyperson service, which provides practical solutions for those living independently at home.
More about Age UK Cambridgeshire & Peterborough
Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is an independent charity within the Age UK network. As a local charity, we have seen demand for our services grow while funding from local sources has declined. Your support is more important than ever.
Donations of any size are welcome and help immensely in delivering the services. For example, £6 supports one visit or call from a sharing time volunteer and £48 provides one person with community warden support for a week.

Many people are unaware of the wide range of services we provide. Here’s an overview:
Information and Advice
We offer free and confidential information and advice to older people, their families, and carers. This includes guidance on welfare benefit entitlements and care choices.
We also help administer the Household Support Fund for those struggling to pay their fuel costs.
Practical Support
Our practical services are designed to make daily living easier:
Cambridgeshire Handyperson: Provides practical solutions such as fitting grab rails and carrying out falls prevention assessments.
Community Warden Service: Offers daily contact and support with tasks like small amounts of shopping and collecting prescriptions.
Hospital Discharge & Admission Avoidance Team: Supports safe discharges home and helps prevent hospital admissions or readmissions by identifying the support a service user may need.
Social Opportunities
We aim to reduce social isolation and prevent loneliness in later life by creating opportunities to share time together:
- We run six day service centres across Cambridgeshire.
- Our Sharing Time Service connects volunteers with older people for weekly visits at home or friendly phone calls, offering companionship and practical help.
If you choose to support us, you will receive:
- > An Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough branded running vest to wear during the event.
- > Support from our fundraising team, including materials, personalised posters, and social media graphics.
- > Hints and tips to maximise your fundraising efforts.
- > An Age UK Cambridgeshire and Peterborough branded certificate to celebrate your achievement.
