St Leonard’s Hospice is a leading provider of palliative and end-of-life care in York and North Yorkshire. Our vision is that everyone living with a life-limiting illness should have access to the best possible care and be supported to die well.
We care for people with a wide range of conditions, including cancer, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and advanced heart failure. Our services include an In-Patient Unit, Hospice@Home, bereavement support, carer support and wellbeing drop-in sessions.

In the last year we:
- Cared for over 820 patients in our Hospice and in their own homes.
- Enabled 244 family members and carers to have a break.
- Provided 1,219 one-to-one bereavement support sessions.
- Supported 669 individuals at our wellbeing drop-in sessions.
All our care is provided free of charge, but with only 25% of our funding coming from the NHS, we need to raise £7.5 million annually to keep our services running. The unrivalled care we offer is made possible thanks to the generosity and support of our community. We couldn’t do it without you!
